There are four units for eight grade science. They include Astronomy, Chemistry, Human Body, and Physics. Each unit will last about a marking period. Within each unit there lies a project. The projects this year use the different type of technology available to the students at school.
There are two levels of classes, which are academic and advanced. The advanced will be required to read articles every two weeks. Most come from Bill Bryson’s book, but the others come from recent articles on the topic in class. On top of the articles the advanced class will be required to perform in data day. Here they must find a question about the human body. For instance, does height affect the ability to balance? For one day we will test the students within their school. Of course parents are welcome. The next day back in school, they will be required to analyze their data and set up a presentation for the entire class. On the other hand, academic will be required to only complete the four major projects.
